Church Growth and Plateaus

Notes from WCA’s Defining Moments: FAQs Posed to Seasoned Pastors

“Moving into our new building and experiencing great church growth, I feel like we’re now on plateau. How do you prevent a temporary plateau from becoming permanent?”

Bill Hybels:

Decisions must be made based on what the real needs of the church are at the moment, even if it means that growth may slow a bit.

When you are in that season, put plans in place for growth engines that will ramp up when the season is over.  Plateaus are necessary for creating an infrastructure to support your next growth burst.
